Info

Daniele Ciminieri is an IT professional with over 15 years of experience in the design and development of complex digital systems. His practice is defined by a multidisciplinary approach that integrates rigorous backend engineering with advanced data visualization and interaction design. Throughout his career, he has focused on transforming complex datasets into functional tools for research institutions, international organizations, and the cultural heritage sector.

His professional trajectory began in corporate consulting at Reply, before moving into academic research at the Politecnico di Milano DensityDesign Lab, where he investigated the relationship between data structures and visual representation. This was followed by seven years at Dotdotdot, a period instrumental in his transition to the role of Creative Technologist. Starting as a developer, he took on increasing responsibilities, eventually serving as Technical Lead and Software Architect. In this capacity, he managed the integration of hardware and software for large-scale interactive environments, establishing a foundation for his current work on the stability and scalability of information systems.

Since 2024, he has operated as an independent consultant, maintaining a stable collaboration with the Milan-based studio Calibro. He architects digital infrastructures for humanists and institutional frameworks, focusing on the development of specialized archives and data-driven platforms. By bridging the gap between domain-specific knowledge and technical implementation, he provides robust solutions that ensure data integrity and facilitate the exploration of complex information for scholars, digital humanists, and specialized institutions.

Outside of his professional practice, he is an active musician and a member of RVVV, a live coding ensemble. He is also an avid climber and mountain enthusiast.
